On 20th May 1862 the Museum of Art started its operation in Warsaw. By the Second World War, the museum had moved to a new location and changed its name to the National Museum of Warsaw. Unfortunately, the war proved devastating to the museum and collection of art pieces – however, the museum collection has been restored over many years.
